February '94

A lot, a lot of action this month. Mostly, the internal
conflicts within PTG and the fight between RZR and TRSi. Both of
these events are covered in separate articles here, but here is a
brief summary:

Let's start with the PTG... The conflict between Professor
and Bandieto has damaged the group a bit, but most of the damage was
done by the total absence of releases over the last couple of months.
PTG has lost a lot of boards and members, and is desparately trying
to recover right now. The group that has previously been known for
quite a lot of ragging and "big talk" have now chosen the policy of
friendship and cooperation with other groups in the scene. That's
probably the only way that can bring back some respect for PTG and we
must congratule the new senior staff on finding that solution. They
have also managed to put out a couple of releases towards the end of
the month, so we might yet see their comeback.

As for the other big scandal - the conflict between TRSi and
RZR, the things have been quite unfair to RZR lately. Over this month,
there were TWO games released that RZR put out before claiming it to
be final versions. First is the Brutal Sports Football that seems to
run faster and smoother than Crazy Football that RZR put out, and the
second one is Nomad from THG. The Renegade Chemist comments that at
the time RZR released Nomad that should have been a final version and
that is probably true, but it still did not help RZR much..

On the other hand, TRSi have been doing quite well this month,
with a large number and size of releases, and even though two largest
games they put out - Arena and Dragon Sphere are claimed by some people
to be a betas, we have decided to award the credits for them. We have
checked both RZR and TRSi releases of Arena and did not find any
diffirence in them. As for Dragon Sphere - we will award the credits
for now, but if at any time there will be a prove that this version is
NOT a final, credits will be deducted.

New policies:

1.	Just as stated above, if the game rated in THE SCENE issue at
any time is proven NOT to be a final release, credits will be taken
and the group that releases a full final will be eligible for them.

2.	Any group that releases the game pre-trained/cheated will
receive an additional 1 point bonus.

3.	Any group that releases the game uncracked will receive a
penalty of one point.
