                          ** FIDOMAIL TUTORIAL **

This text file will explain step-by-step what to do to setup ThunderNet
to poll the appropriate HUB for your BBS to get ThunderNet. If these
instructions are followed, your mailer should be able to poll and process
     mail packets for ThunderNet.

     FrontDOOR/InterMail Setup Instructions:

       1. Run the FDSETUP/IMSETUP program.

          a. Setup a User with Supervisor Access.
          b. Go to the Global Menu, enter the submenu "Address"
          c. Enter the sub-sub menu "Address"
          d. Put your ThunderNet node number into the the next available
nodelist number slot on the screen.
          e. Enter your board information in the "Site Info" submenu.
Descriptions of the Flags can be found in FD.DOC
          f. Enter the "Domains" sub-menu, enter "thunder.org" in the next
available domains slot on your mailer.
          g. Setup the filenames and filepaths under the "filenames"
submenu, descriptions of what each do can be found in FD.DOC
          h. Set "General" submenu options accordingly, only the country
code affects ThunderNet. Please set it appropriately.
          i. Please set the following under the Mailer/Miscellaneous section.
             * Mail from Unprotected Systems - Yes
             * Match Remote's Zone - Yes
             * Present all AKA's to Remote System - Yes
          j. Please set the options under Terminal and EMSI Profile according
to your preferences, and make it active.
          k. Set the Modem Submenu to your preferences.
          l. Set your Manager/Events submenu, this is where the automatic
polling is for 24hour FrontDOOR systems.
             * Pick the next available slot for an event.
             * Set TAG for next available tag. (I.E. @-A-B-C)
             * Set Eventbase according to your needs. (FD.DOC)
             * Set the Start Time, and the length of the event.
             * Set the errorlevel according to the event errorlevel in your
batch file that loads the FrontDOOR E-Mail system.
             * Set the behavior of the event on the behavior options.
               * Allow users during event - Yes
               * Exit when mail is recieved - Yes
               * High Priority Mail Only - No
               * Pickup Waiting Mail - Yes

       2. Edit your FDNODE.CTL file.

          a. If you already have a network on your FrontDOOR, you will need
to edit the FDNODE.CTL and enter this.

PVTLIST (Where your nodelist directory is)\THUNDER.*

This will read the ThunderNet nodelist as a secondary nodelist
and you will not have any conflicts.

          b. If you do NOT already have an echo mail network on your
system, then simply rename THUNDER.xxx to NODELIST.xxx in your
nodelist directory (where "xxx" is the current nodelist rev #).

       3. Compile the nodelist.

          a. After making the mods outlined in step 2 above, run FDNC (or IMNC)
and compile the nodelist. A quick command line way is to enter:

FDNC /F (or IMNC /F for Intermail)

This forces FDNC to immediately compile all configured nodelists.

That concludes this FrontDOOR/InterMail Setup tutorial section. This
should make your FrontDOOR/InterMail mailer interfaceable with ThunderNet.
If you have any problems, contact your nearest Hub or contact MOONCROW.
